Who Invented Google – two men stood behind this invention!

Who Invented Google : Google is the most popular search engine in the world. You use google probably every day and maybe even more than one time. Have you ever wondered who invented Google? We have an answer for you: Google was created by two people – Sergey Brin and Larry Page in 1998. Thus, it is quite a recent invention. The first name, which they had for the creation, was Googol, which stands for number 1 followed by 100 zeroes. The name of it was misspelled as Google and it became the real name of the duo’s invention. Also, it referred to a number of information items that the search engine actually had.
Sergey Brin and Larry Page met each other in 1995 when they were studying at Stanford University. Both of them attended computer science classes. In the beginning of 1996, they collaborated on writing a paper about a search engine called Backrub. This search engine was unique in a way that it had a back link analysis function. Eventually, this work became quite a success and the duo decided to work on a new project, which became even more successful, that being Google.

Initially, it was almost impossible to get finance to make Google licensed. After many improvements, Sergey Brin and Larry Page gave a demo version of Google to Andy Bechtolsheim, who worked at Sun Microsystems. He was so impressed with their work that he gave 100 thousand dollars to keep the improvements of the search engine going. In the same year, Sergey Brin and Larry Page opened the first office of Google in Menlo Park, California.
Google was improved a lot and by that time. It could answer around 10 thousand queries every day. In 2000, ten different languages were added to Google. In fact, today, the search engine has the largest network of translators. Many people have made Google their homepage and it is available in more than 80 languages today. Google that we use now includes not only a search engine as it has been improved and now features cloud computing and online advertising technologies, as well as software.
Most of the profits that the company gets come from AdWords, which is an online advertising service. You can easily spot it – when you search for some information on Google, you can see advertisements placed near your search results.
Sergey Brin and Larry Page own 14 percent of Google’s shares. In 2004, the headquarters of the company were moved from Menlo Park, California to Mountain View, California. It got the nickname of Googleplex.
Today, Google holds a variety of other products and services, such as Google Docs, Gmail, Google+ and Google Drive. Also, some Desktop products have been introduced, including Google Photos, Hangouts and Google Chrome. Google is the leader of the developments of some other services, such as the Android mobile operating system and the browser Chrome OS, which is used in netbooks, including Chromeboxes and Chromebooks.
Google is capable of processing around one billion search requests. In 2013, it became the most visited website in the world, according to the survey done by Alexa.
