WHO INVENTED THE COMPUTER – The pioneers behinds first computer

Who Invented The Computer : Today, technologies are advancing so fast that some people can barely keep up with them. One of the modern technologies, which are used every day by millions of people, is a computer. Even when you read this article, you are probably reading it on your PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone, which are all different versions of it. The computer is an essential device for high school and university students. Even children as young as four years old are learning how to use it and you can find articles about older people succeeding in using it more and more often.
If you ask any person the question who invented the computer, what you imagine their answers will be? Some of them might say Al Gore, Bill Gates or Steve Jobs, whereas other might know people, who were vital in computer’s development, such as Konrad Zuse and Alan Turing. Therefore, an answer to the question who invented the computer is quite difficult as there are many classifications and development stages of this device.
For example, in 1822, the first computer was created, which, however, did not look anything like the computer, which you use every day.

It was created by Charles Babbage. It is also worth mentioning that the notion ‘computer’ was first mentioned in 1613. What is even more interesting is that it was used to describe not a device, but a human who did calculations. This notion was used up until the end of the 19th century when machines were created to perform calculations.
In 1822, as it has been mentioned, Charles Babbage created the first computer, which is known as the Difference Engine. It was the first automatic computing machine. His created computer could compute several sets of numbers and make hard copies of the results. In 1837, he invented the Analytical Engine, which was the first general mechanical computer.
In 1938, the first functional computer was invented by Konrad Zuse, which was called Z1. In 1936, another inventor, Alan Turing proposed the design for the computer, which was the first one to resemble a computer, which people use today. His created invention could print symbols similar in a way of a person following logical directions. In 1943, Tommy Flowers invented the electric programmable computer.
Then followed the creation of the first digital computer, which was proposed by John Vincent Atanasoff. In 1942, the already mentioned inventor, Konrad Zuse, created the first commercial computer, which was named Z4. In 1955, the world saw the release of the Whirlwind machine, which became the first computer that had RAM.
Nine years after that, Pier Giorgio Perotto created the first desktop computer in the world, called the Programma 101. Ed Roberts is regarded as the one who launched the first personal computer in 1975. After all of these developments, in 1975, the first laptop was invented. However, it still did not look as compatible as the one which we have today. Six years later, the Osborne 1, which is considered the first true laptop, was invented by Adam Osborne. It is also known that the cost of it was 1,795 dollars.
